2023 CSA Co-op

with Love & Grit Farm and East Rivendell Farm

Join us this year for our fourth Community Support Agriculture (CSA) program season at Love & Grit Farm.

What is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?

The CSA model is a system to connect the consumer (you!) directly with the food producer (us!) by providing a vehicle to subscribe to our season's harvest. Every week during our growing season (25 weeks) we will harvest a farm "share" for each of our members, available for pickup on the farm. Each share will have an average of 7-8 (+/-) items per week.

Why the partnership with East Rivendell Farm this year?

It is no secret that our grow space is limited at Love & Grit Farm, and we want to continue to grow our program to reach more members of our community. Last season we sourced veg from East Rivendell, and throughout a weekly visits and growing friendship we found a lot of energy and opportunity for efficiency potentially working together. But above all else, East Rivendell holds a tremendously high standard for naturally grown, chemical-free practices which we hold near and dear to our principles.

A match made in farm heaven? Perhaps so!

Did we mention East Rivendell has a beautiful local goods market at their farm? For those who select Saturday pickups at East Rivendell, you have access to even more great food options: cheese, meats, kombucha, goats milk soaps, etc.

What are other important changes from last year to this year?

Namely, our  pick-up options! We have three options available this year:

  • Wednesdays, 4-6pm at Love & Grit Farm. Come pickup your share and spend some time walking around with your children and family with access to our herb garden. A true community gathering spot!

  • Saturdays, 10am-4pm at East Rivendell Farm (26904 Clarksburg Rd, Damascus MD) during market hours

  • Saturdays, 8am-sundown Self Service pick-up at Love & Grit Farm

Here are all the details on how our CSA works:

1) Our CSA season will run 25 weeks in entirety, beginning the week of May 8 and running through the end of October.

2) Each share will include 7-8 medium to large vegetable or fruit items, and all-you-can-cut herbs from our large herb garden. It also includes access to chicken eggs, broiler chickens, pork shares, extra veg as available, etc. NOTE: Looking for more of a market experience? Select Saturday pick-up at East Rivendell Farm which overlaps with their amazing local market goods.

3) The total cost of $695 ($27.80/week) for the season.  Payment is required up front; either in full or we offer a split payment in halves where the first half is due upon registration, remaining 50% due June.

4) Spots are first come first serve. If you have joined us in years past, there is always a share available for you.  Payment will be taken alongside the registration form and that will secure your share.
